2nd cdr in rose for bohdan series compiling out of print and rare comp
tracks, singles tracks, and unreleased material. While the first disc (I Am the
Queen of Vanity) focused on comp tracks from 2002 alone, this comp pulls from
r4b's entire ten years of material, including unreleased outtakes from the
forthcoming Then Everybody Hugged, "Racism is God." album, a live noise
performance from the infamous Clit Stop in San Francisco, extremely rare early
Blackbean comp tracks, an unreleased remix by Pho and more!!
ASIAN
GANGS TERRORIZE, CUDDLE.
What the FOX News investigative report on Asian Gangs neglected is
probably one of the most interesting phenomena involved in the Asian
Gang scene. The popular group know as Rose 4 Bodhan for several years
have recorded tunes about street life in Hacienda Heights and the
surrounding communities, but along with this thuggish attitude and a
rejection of authority is a deep respect for early nineties indie-rock.
At giant house parties R4B is known to rock a Jay Z cover now and again,
but strangely they might throw in a tune by the little known Rollerskate
Skinny. “You know we feel their stuff,” says front man KillaRyo, “They
don’t get enough respect and I mean we don’t always have to be hard,
plus the bitches love it when we show our sensitive side.” This has led
to an interesting phenomenon where hard-ass gangsters aren’t afraid to
show their soft side, which makes the R4B crew one of the most
successful out there when it comes to conquests of the opposite sex. But
don’t mistake this characteristic for a weakness, as you may have seen
on FOX, these Gs are ruthless. Well- known for their home invasion
robberies, the R4B crew tie up elderly residents and force them to
listen to the excruciating noise of a song called “Solve All the
Problems Till There’s No Problems Left” while they steal all their
worldly possessions. One victim was found by neighbors bleeding from one
of his ears and tied to a futon. The CD “Obsessed With My Own
Philosophy” documents both the ruthless and gentle sides of the R4B
crew. It even includes the infamous track used in the aforementioned
home invasions. The listener can easily imagine themselves in the place
of a 73 year old woman scared for her life inundated with an
unimaginable spectrum of evil sounds. Luckily for the listener the whole
disc is not pure audio terrorism, jams like “We Bang” bring to life the
real essence of a happening parties where the R4B crew lives large.
