A document of live
performances, primarily from the tour w/ Anni Rossi. Includes
collaborations w/ Tralphaz, Jake Anderson (of Celesteville / Yuma Nora /
Gang Wizard), and Alex Merril (ex-Sex With Girls). High quality
recordings done to laptop direct from the PA. Scathing digital
harshness, tense purient style feedback solos, and many
unexpected/non-traditional noise sounds. From completely awkward to
transcendantly beautifull this is music by a young boy and girl that
don't put all their allegances with the noise gods. ------------------------------- Anarchy is not Gay. Fuck you assholes. Let me tell you I’ve been living in an anarcho-peace warehouse in Seattle, WA for 8 months now and I can tell you most definitely Anarchy is not Gay. Anarchy is love, peace and respect for one another. Anarchy is equality. Anarchy is Gay sounds like the kind of thing a crypto-fascist no-talent jokester might say. Well let me tell you Brian Miller and Kevin Shields, your “funny ha ha” brand of noise moan posturing might work down in that hellhole you call Los Angeles, but it won’t fly up here in Seattle, where people have impeccable taste in music. We’re not a bunch of posturing poseurs like you are, we are real awesome, beautiful people who believe in something. What do you believe in? I tried to listen to your “CD” to see if you have anything good to say under your façade of humor, but guess what? There are no words, no lyrics, no meaning whatsoever. All I hear are grunts, static, moans and anti-social sounding noise. You might learn something from a great local band like the Trees of Peace. Now those girls know how to rock. Their influences range from Sleater-Kinney to Bikini Kill and their lyrics are about overthrowing the male hierarchy. Or even better yet there’s Old Samson’s Drink who play old-timey authentic hill-people music from the Appalachian heartland. They are from Ballard and they rule. They even have a number that is against President Bush with meaningful lyrics. So why don’t you put that in your pipe and smoke it, Brian Miller and Kevin Shields, along with the PCP all you LA types seem to be into. review by John Thrill |
